Moving image- Final Project

https://vimeo.com/92689052

This is my finished final piece for the moving image project.

Whilst I am happy with the drawings themselves, I would have added more characters with some animation had I had more time.

Overall I like the dark tone and odd music, I feel it relates back to the original film well without being a copy.

If i'd had had more time I would have used a larger range of animation methods, perhaps using flash to add more fluid movement. I also would have added more characters in.

Final project music choice - "Alice" - "Pogo"

"Alice"- Pogo (c)

The music I have chosen for my final project is by medley composer "Pogo" who combines sound/music clips from movies and creates music from them. This one being a compilation of sound clips from Disney's Alice in wonderland. I feel the music fits the theme well as while it does carry melody, the words are also distorted and make no sense, rather like the tone of the film itself. I felt this was a good way to include original content from the movie without simply taking a song from the soundtrack.

Alice Design

This is my final design for Alice for my moving image. I stuck very closely to the original Disney character but have added some very minor changes to fit the theme of the moving image.

Final idea- Alice in wonderland

Due to shortage of time, I have decided to do a simple moving image by fading different images into eachother, with a connecting theme using windows movie maker.

I chose to do alice and wonderland so I could have images fading in and out with little narrative, such as the story is less about narrative and more about the occurrences and encounters along the way.

I will be basing the designs off the original Disney characters, as they are the most recognizable, however making some changes to keep them stylized.

Moving Image example- "Chosen" [Source Film maker animation.]

I really like the use of lighting/shadows in this, plus the lack of dialogue and narrative shown through action alone.

SFM [Source film maker] Computer animation using Source film maker software.

Regarding the style of this video, I enjoy the background changes without cutting from the character. Changing the scene without cutting, it flows nicely.
